TPLF massacring civilians in towns occupied in the ongoing invasion
The Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) is committing ethnic-based massacres against Amharas in towns occupied in the ongoing invasion including Kobo, Aradom and Robit towns located in Raya Kobo Woreda (North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia).
In the past week TPLF committed door-to-door massacre of Amhara civilians and systematic looting of property in towns occupied in the invasion including Kobo, Aradom and Robit according to eyewitnesses who spoke to Mager Media.
In Kobo town, a great number of civilians were systematically killed by the TPLF army and until now, it has not been possible to recover bodies of the deceased according to residents.
Kobo town remains under siege and occupation by the TPLF army and residents report being unable to move as TPLF soldiers are going door-to-door executing civilians according to eyewitnesses.
Eyewitnesses who spoke to Mager Media described the massacres perpetrated by TPLF as horrific and reported witnessing TPLF soldiers kill at least seven infants.
The TPLF army while occupying Raya Kobo, Aradom and Robit towns is fighting with Misraq Amhara Fano to seize Gobiye town according to Mager Media’s sources on the ground.
Sources from the ground reported that the defense forces who fought TPLF in Kobo and the surrounding area withdrew passing Woldia.
Mager Media’s sources add that Misraq Amhara Fano is fighting TPLF forces near the Alwuha dam to liberate Robit.
In addition, students at Woldia University have left the campus as a result of the threat posed to them according to residents of Woldia.
The students have found it difficult to return home as costs of public transportation have dramatically increased.
OLA massacring Amharas in Horo Guduru Wollega
The Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) perpetrated an ethnic-based massacre of Amharas in Agamsa Kebele (Amuru Woreda, Horo Guduru Wollega Zone, Oromo Region) according to residents who spoke to Mager Media.
Over the past week, defense forces was made to withdraw from Horo Guduru Wollega after which on August 29, 2022 (Nehase 23, 2014 EC), OLA perpetrated a large-scale massacre of Amharas in Agamsa Kebele, Amuru Woreda where an additional 26 Amharas were abducted and banks were looted.
At the time of this report, the OLA has continued its rampage throughout Agamsa Kebele and other kebeles within Amuru Woreda and gunfire can still be heard according to residents who spoke to Mager Media.
In addition, over the past two days, over the four zones of Wollega, defense forces have withdrawn from positions according to residents who spoke to Mager Media.
Mager Media has repeatedly reported that adequate action was not taken against the OLA, a base of operations could be found in the jungles next to the woreda and that residents in the area could be subject to another massacre.
OLA kills four civilians on the Addis Ababa-Gojjam road
Yesterday, August 28, 2022 (Nehase 22, 2014 EC), OLA perpetrated a killing of travellers on the Addis Ababa-Gojjam line close to the town of Gebre Guracha (Oromo Region, Ethiopia) according to sources on the ground.
A minibus providing public transportation services departed from Addis Ababa and when it reached an area called Kuyu near Gebre Guracha town, OLA forces opened fire on it killing four civilians including the driver and injured many others according to sources.
Over a week ago, on this same Addis Ababa-Gojjam road, the OLA opened fire killing 5 civilians and injuring many others near Tulu Melki town, according to survivors who spoke to Mager Media.
